The only weakness for the iphone
As the new iPhone 3GS is coming out we are facing a brand new onslaught of people signing up to that much wanted contract at o2 to get the most popular phone of our time. Yet, is it all that? No doubt the answer would be Yes! There is no doubt that it is worth it! However, when we dig a little deeper into the set up of the iphone we have do come across a few road blocks that do tend to get in the way.
The biggest issue with the current iphone has got to be the onscreen keyboard. Personally, I own a Blackberry and that has a keyboard built into the phone but it is not touch screen. Surely, this has got to be worse? It is far better in my opinion. Although the iPhone does offer an onscreen touchpad it is extremely annoying to use. It’s a case of the old classic – your fingers are too big for the screen. You punch one key and end up with the wrong letter. It can get very frustrating indeed.
Computer keyboards are harder to replicate the smaller they get however having one on screen does seem like the logical choice for a phone like the iphone. Let us hope that educational keyboards don’t end up this hard to use as I am struggling to get use to how a wireless keyboard works myself.
Either way, I think it is something that Apple really need to address. I have used the iphone on numerous occasions and I choose to have a Blackberry because the keyboard is so much easier and simple to use. It is definitely worth considering when you purchase your next phone. If you are thinking of whether to buy an iphone or Blackberry remember that the touch screen keypad on the iphone is not of the best quality.
